Kenny Pittman has been the pastor of Fork Hill Baptist Church since February 2014. He received Jesus as Savior and Lord when he was 22 years old. He remembers that he and his family were like Easter bunnies and Christmas elves while he was growing up – they only showed up for church on special occasions. Since that was the case, he had to learn what he believed and what church meant to him in those early days of being a Jesus-follower. He did this by studying the Bible and surrounding himself with people who mentored and encouraged him so that he might know what true Biblical salvation looked like in real life. Pastor Kenny says about that time, “I am grateful for those relationships that showed me what a disciple of Christ really looks like. I have spent my adult life trying to replicate those things I saw and learned through the lives of those cherished friends.” He was called into ministry in 1997 and has served churches in North and South Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has taken coursework through Fruitland Bible College and Southern Seminary. Married for 21 years and blessed with a daughter in 1999, he saw his first wife, Paula, battle cancer for 2 years before her eternal victory was realized in 2011. In December of that same year, he was introduced to Heather who was the widow of a pastor then raising 4 sons after losing her husband to cancer in 2010. In February of 2012, they were married and God has blended their families to His glory! Pastor Kenny loves God’s word, is passionate about teaching its full counsel, and wants to see men and women become more like Jesus by building relationships with them and encouraging them as he serves God and the church at Fork Hill.
